Privacy Policy: Reels Quick Block

Last updated: October 17, 2026

Reels Quick Block ("the extension") lets you block the Instagram account behind the reel you are watching. This policy explains what it does and doesn't do with your data.

What we collect

Nothing. The extension has no servers, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. The developer never receives any of your data.

What is stored on your device

When you block an account with the extension, it saves that account's username, Instagram user ID and the date in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local), so it can show you a list of accounts you've blocked. It also saves your "skip to next reel" setting. This data never leaves your computer. Removing the extension deletes it.

Communication with Instagram

The extension only runs on www.instagram.com. When you choose to block an account, it sends two requests from your browser to Instagram, using your existing logged-in session: one to look up the account's user ID and one to block it. These are the same requests Instagram's own Block button sends. No data is sent to anyone other than Instagram.

Permissions

Selling or sharing data

We don't sell, transfer or share user data with third parties, use it for unrelated purposes, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.

Affiliation

Reels Quick Block isn't affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. Instagram is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc.
